Owning applicator leverages labor, time

RoGator“In no-till, early weed pressure can really suck away nutrients and moisture. By owning our own sprayer, we control application timing to get ahead of weed pressure. We also reduce our per acre costs through ownership.” -- Dale Lucht, grower, Jackson, Minn.

As operations get larger, more farmers are buying their own equipment to ensure timely, accurate application of crop protection products and better control of input costs and expenses. David Webster, director of sales, AGCO Application Equipment, has seen twice as many growers entering the market for the company’s RoGator high-clearance post-emergence applicator than just five years ago.

Dale Lucht, a grower from Jackson, Minn., is among them. “We added a RoGator to our operation to control the timing, quality and cost of application,” says Lucht. “In no-till, early weed pressure can really suck away nutrients and moisture. By owning our own sprayer, we control application timing to get ahead of weed pressure. We also reduce our per acre costs through ownership.”

When selecting a machine, many growers are investing in the equipment their local custom applicators have relied on for years – the RoGator high-clearance sprayer.

Chosen by professionals

“The RoGator is built with the quality, durability, technology and comfort custom applicators need to consistently cover a high volume of acres accurately and efficiently,” explains Webster. “Since the first machine was built in 1967, we’ve focused on delivering machines and post-sale service that keep applicators moving during the critical spray season. Today, many growers have a lot of those same needs, and as a result, are turning to RoGator.”

Hallmarks of the RoGator are its exclusive “C” channel frame for greater durability and flexibility to keep all four wheels solidly on the ground for better traction, fuel economy and field performance. In addition, all AGCO self-propelled machines have Advanced Application cabs featuring an exclusive six-post design which offers unobstructed operator visibility to the boom tips and industry-leading visibility to both the front and rear of the machine. The cab also provides triple-filtered fresh air, ergonomically designed fingertip controls and a comfort-ride seat to help minimize operator fatigue during long hours in the field. Five new models offer the highest capacitities in their class ranging from 900-, 1100- and 1300-gallon liquid systems and added horsepower. A dry spinner system is an available option.

A newly designed front entry that makes loading faster and lowered boom mounts to further optimize visibility in the field and on the road, are just a few RoGator features which set the bar for innovation and efficiency. Visit www.applylikeapro.com for info and a nearby dealer.
